The Repair Café movement, which began in the Netherlands in 2009, has now grown to over 3,000 locations worldwide. Volunteers with repair skills offer free fixing services for everything from electronics to clothing.
"We're fighting throwaway culture one repair at a time," said a local organizer. "Plus, it brings communities together in a meaningful way."
Studies show Repair Cafés have prevented over 40,000 tons of waste from entering landfills while teaching valuable skills and fostering community connections.
