Global renewable energy generation has reached a historic milestone, with solar, wind, hydro, and other clean sources now providing 35% of the world's electricity. The achievement comes ahead of most projections.
"We're moving faster than anyone predicted," said an energy analyst. "The economics of renewables have become so favorable that the transition is accelerating."
Solar power alone grew by 25% last year, while wind power capacity increased by 20%. Several countries now generate over 90% of their electricity from renewables.
